Belle

When his wife wouldn't help, this man wore a sanitary pad himself in the name of research. Then he changed the world.

Our mission at Hello Code is all about empowering people. We love that anyone can learn new skills and make a difference in the world, especially with the way education is changing at the moment.

Both Josh and I loved this TED talk when we came across it, because it's a perfect example of this principle. In the video below, Indian entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham tells the story of how he fought against the odds with 'little education,' no support (even from the people he wanted to help) and in opposition to major corporations to start 'a sanitary napkin revolution.'

Arunachalam helped his community, built a sustainable business and empowered women all over India. Plus, he has a great sense of humour. What's not to love?

Belle.
